WOMS
WOMS Parents Showing Up in Style for the First Day!
Four White Oak Middle School students began their school year early. Tank Thacker, Alayna Jester, Nate Plogsted, and Molly Greene performed Monday, August 20th at Twin Towers Retirement Home on Hamilton Avenue. The ensemble was the 'warm-up act' before their orchestra director's, Deb McDonough, band called Squeeze Play, performed. The quartet played solos, a duet, and several quartets for the residents. The 7th graders were very professional in their behavior and performance. Mrs. McDonough is beaming. Kudos to these fine WOMS musicians!
Taylor Elem
Taylor Elementary welcomed students on the first day of school with a welcome line! Parents, families and district employees gathered to cheer on our students as they entered the building. It was a great way to start our first day in a new building! To make the day even more special, all students received a t-shirt that they all proudly wore at dismissal, showing their excitment to be a Taylor Tiger!
Here's what made my week:
I'm new to the district and my entire 3rd grade team has been welcoming, helpful, and supportive. We are going to rock this school year together!
My class made me beam with pride, as I watched them "save Fred" in an activity on teamwork. Each team successfully put a life saver gummy on a gummy worm, Fred, and got him on top of their plastic cup ... only using paperclips. Hearing them cheer on brand new friends warmed my heart.
Note from the Cafe... Many of the children were wonderfully polite going through the lunch line this week.--KEEP IT UP!!

One hundred fifty-three out of two hundred-forty pieces of artwork was selected for this
juried show from the nine OAEA regions in the state of Ohio. This show is designed to help
motivate and inspire new artists to excel in areas of drawing, painting, sculpture, crafts,
computer art, photography and printing. Everyone involved should be proud of the students
and teachers who inspire, creative thinking, problem solving and skillful techniques.
