MHE
Congratulations to Kim McRoberts for winning the NAE’S Distinguished Teacher Award 2018.“One of the unsung hero’s of Monfort Heights”
Monfort Heights 4th graders took part in a living history re-enactment of the August 3, 1795 signing of the Treaty of Greene Ville. Each homeroom became one of Ohio’s Historic Indian Tribes, complete with students playing the parts of tribal chief, war captain, clan mother, and warrior. The tribes deliberated for nearly an hour before choosing to accept the peace treaty being offered by Gen. Mad Anthony Wayne, played by Monfort Heights teacher Dave Mackey.

During this six-day Envision program, Washington, DC will serve as a living classroom for students as they develop leadership skills while having the educational experience of a lifetime.
With a focus on influential figures from American history and social advocacy, JrNYLC is an experience that is packed with fun and engaging site experiences as well as hands-on activities that bring the concepts and skills of effective leadership to life.
Students at JrNYLC learn to work together and collaborate as they develop action plans that they can put into practice in their homes and communities, continuing beyond their conference experience. Students will also explore monuments and memorials in our nation's capital and participate in an exclusive Capitol Hill experience.
HELC
In the PED class at HELC, the students got to participate in Michelangelo "upside down" painting. The students learned about different forms of art and what artists do. Then, they learned about Michelangelo and we looked at some of his famous works like the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. The students discussed how Michelangelo might have painted the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. Afterwards, the students got to paint like Michelangelo by being underneath their paintings as they painted!

CHS
The CHS Bowling Team held their annual bowling party for kids from St. Joseph Orphanage on March 16th. For many of the children, it was the first time they had been bowling before. The adults who brought them were extremely impressed at how patient the CHS students were and a good time was had by all.
