On Saturday, February 24th, 2018 the Colerain Chamber Orchestra achieved a SUPERIOR rating in the Ohio Music Educators Association Southwest Region State Orchestra Adjudicated Event.  This premier event for orchestras in the state of Ohio was held at the Stivers School for the Arts in Dayton, Ohio.  They performed three pieces: Motif by Shirl Jae Atwell, Celtic Dreams by Anne Svendsen, and Sinfonia in D by Johann Stamitz.  The performance was followed by a session of sight-reading, also in front of a judge.  The Colerain group received the highest ratings possible in their class from each of the four music judges.  They can be very proud of their accomplishments and the manner in which they represented Colerain High School!  Go Cards!  Thanks for listening!!

PRMS
The PRMS Math Counts Club participated in the Math Counts competition at UC. Jamie Adams, Myles Blackwell, Lindsey Rohrig, Haley Meece, Mathias Yohannes, Khan Han Truong, and Hannah Tran did a great job representing PRMS. Stacey Funk and Nikki Flynn are the Math Counts sponsors. Great job to all!

WOMS
Congrats to Tim Smith and Khamil Abdul Waheed on their UNDEFEATED SEASON and Middle School GMC CHAMPIONSHIP

Hamilton County Soil and Water Conservation District came to talk about soil to White Oak's 6th grade. The properties of soil can be difficult to grasp but luckily this presentation offered hands-on activities for the students. Who knew why it takes over 100 years to make an inch of topsoil? The presentation also covered soils six major components, an introduction to sand, silt and clay, and the properties such as porosity and permeability.

MHE
MHE celebrated Dr. Seuss's birthday with fun facts on the morning announcements, a trivia challenge, guest readers, and designated times to "drop everything and read."

Butler Tech
This year the Butler Tech/Northwest DECA Chapter submitted a 37-page, student written report about the Northwest Knight Spirit Shop - our goal was to become certified at the Gold Level.

We didn't reach Gold THIS year, we did reach the Bronze Level Certification. We are delighted that we have been recognized with this honor. DECA awards these certifications nationally, based on standards for a model school store operation. I might add, this report was based on 4 months of operation.

Thanks to Queen City Tees, the students were given the tools necessary to compete and prepare such a worthy report to DECA. The Marketing Class had the major task of running the shop, however, other DECA members give up their lunch to work the shop.
