Grinch Punch at PRE

The first grade class at PRE enjoyed making Christmas trees with a variety of goodies! We had a blast!

Some STEM activities that Mrs. Smith's first grade engineers were tasked with doing this week. They were to choose materials, make  a blueprint, and execute. I will send separate emails with pictures.
1. Build the tallest tree using cups.
2. Build a parachute for Santa.
3. Build a shelf for an elf to sit on.
Students were persistent and creative during these lessons.
They showed teamwork and ability. Mrs. Smith was proud of them!

Mrs. Wright's class at Struble Elementary read and compared different gingerbread stories before winter break. The children also made gingerbread houses.

During the week of November 12th, students from Struble Elementary planned, prepared, and served a Thanksgiving meal.  They served this meal to their families and to their support staff in the building.  Not only did they prepare food, but the students also created some fall decorations to compliment our Thanksgiving theme.  Everyone enjoyed the time together!  Even an ice storm did not stop them from sharing this special meal.  Thank you to the new staff in the pod for supporting this long-standing tradition.

HELC

HELC celebrated Read With Your Child Day with parents and students on Thursday, December 20th.   Everyone had the opportunity to bring their favorite book and enjoy the art of reading.  Here are a few photos to enjoy...

MHE

Mrs. Schmitz's class had many entries of literature for the PTA Reflections contest with the theme, “Heroes Around Us.” Tyler Murray, a student in her class, wrote about his hero, Lexie Priessman. She is a gymnast for the National Team that has travelled internationally. She came to my classroom and gave a motivational talk to inspire students to work hard to reach their goals, no matter what adversity they encounter in their lives. She is currently a senior at LSU and is on the gymnastics team there. It was a great experience for the kids and easy to see why she was chosen as Tyler’s hero!

CHS

Krysta Miller and Katherine Barnes, Seniors at Colerain High School, recently placed 1st and 2nd Runner-up (respectively) in the ExCel Club 48th Annual Debutante Cotillion. The Cotillion is structured to present outstanding young women to the Cincinnati community and to award scholarships.
